Outlook® Add-in: Simplified conference booking

The Outlook® Add-in makes the organisation of
telephone and web conferences part of the familiar Microsoft Outlook® platform.
In just the same way as making a meeting request, telephone and web conferences
can now be simply and directly organised using the main Outlook® Calendar. So
now booking a conference is just as easy as scheduling an appointment. The new Outlook® Add-in from Lindenbaum will be made
available to employees within specific sections of Telekom Deutschland AG as
from 2011.
Many of us plan and organise our appointments using Outlook®. Meetings are easily scheduled in Outlook®, with participants receiving their invitation by email. A list of confirmed attendees, location and duration of the meeting are all available at a glance.
Now the same can apply to the organisation of telephone and web conferences, and indeed so much more: using the Outlook® Add-in from Lindenbaum there is no longer any need to leave the familiar Outlook platform, which has now been logically extended. Moreover, the integration of conference management into users’ day-to-day work environment helps strengthen the bond between the customer and the conference service provider.

There are clear benefits to be gained by using the Outlook® Add-in:
- The ability to book from a familiar work platform, without the need to log in to the web front-end of the conference application.
- Once successfully booked, all conference participants will automatically receive email invitations containing all the relevant access data. The invitation text can be drafted in Outlook.
- Automatic entry of the conference in the Outlook® Calendar. Conference appointments can be edited or cancelled using the schedule window, or rescheduled using drag and drop.
- Comprehensive options such as conference recording or online presentations are also available through Outlook®.
- Outlook® proxy function: e.g. an assistant can book the conference, the emails are sent from the conference manager’s account.
The Conference Outlook® Add-in is compatible with Outlook® 2003 to 2007 on Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7. The Add-in is designed for use in a number of languages, currently it is available in German and English. Integration within a corporate environment using Single-Sign-On is guaranteed.
